Letter From the Co-Chairs
Dear Members, Even as the chorus of anti-transgender rhetoric seems to increase, the National Trans Bar Association has had a remarkable month. This summer, the Transgender Law institute successfully returned to in-person attendance in Los Angeles and California inaugurated its second openly transgender trial court judge, the wonderful, Andi Murdyk. Our newest board members have been instrumental in driving the organization forward and our mentorship program is hitting record levels as an increasing number of law students and new practitioners are coming out and making their mark on our profession. As an organization, NTBA is looking forward to November, where for the first time and before the full Supreme Court bench a dozen openly transgender attorneys will be inducted to the Supreme Court bar, in an in-person ceremony. We’re grateful to our members who make this progress possible through their continued support, and we welcome those who are reading this newsletter for the first time – For more information on NTBA and our programs, join us at transbar.org. Warmest Regards, Kristen Browde, Chair For the NTBA Board |
