Mentoring

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

NTBA enthusiastically seeks attorneys and law students to create a mentoring program for trans and gender non-conforming (TGNC) law students and new attorneys. Attorneys will mentor students and less seasoned practitioners by providing career advice and support as they enter the legal profession. We are especially requesting mentor applicants to match with mentees and encourage both mentors and mentees to apply. Prospective mentors and mentees should fill out the brief application below.

NTBA is a new volunteer-run organization by and for trans and allied legal professionals. We believe fostering professional connections for TGNC law students and new attorneys is vital. It not only enriches each person’s professional well-being but also has the potential to strengthen the voice of trans people in the legal profession to the benefit of trans communities.

Because community support is vital to our existence, we ask that all mentors and mentees join NTBA.  We welcome the support of all legal advocates who share our mission, regardless of income. Membership is on a sliding scale (starting at $15 for law students.)

Please note that enrollment in NTBA’s mentoring program will be capped at 25 and closed once we have reached that goal for this year.

If you have any questions about the process, please reach out to Ray Wendell at raymond.a.wendell@gmail.com.
