A Hawaiian Perspective on Settler Colonialism, Gender, and Sexuality
This October, for LGBTQ History Month, join in a series of events on queer theory rooted in a Hawaiian perspective. All events take place on Zoom from 3-4PM HST.
Kalei Ruiz, a mahu educator, has curated the events, and has also created a free, self-paced course exploring Hawaiian worldview, settler colonialism and LGBTQ+ discourse, examining cultural impacts and offering Hawaiian perspectives. Puka Mai Ke Koʻa is open to all—students, faculty, staff and the public. Everyone, everywhere can sign up for free this semester and gain a certificate!
Information for the events and the course can be found here.
