On December 1, 2026, the National Trans Bar Association (NTBA) will sponsor its next group of transgender and nonbinary attorneys to be sworn in before the United States Supreme Court. We invite you to apply for this transformative professional milestone and powerful collective statement.

Since our pioneering first ceremony, the NTBA has made history by bringing 41 attorneys before the full bench of the nation’s highest court, including 11 members sworn in during our most recent ceremony in 2025. This initiative continues to be a vital affirmation that transgender and nonbinary legal professionals are an essential part of the American justice system.

Qualifications & Application Process:
To apply for the December 2026 admission, you must:

Be an attorney admitted to practice in your home state for a minimum of three years.

Be able to appear in Washington, D.C., in the early morning of December 1, 2026.

Complete and return the application form by our deadline (anticipated to be in late summer 2026).

Pay the one-time, lifetime Supreme Court Bar admission fee of $200.

The NTBA is committed to ensuring financial need is not a barrier to participation. As in prior years, NTBA has paid the admission fee for those in financial need.
