Franklin H. Williams Judicial Mentor Program
The Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission has implemented the Judicial Mentor Program to increase diversity in the judiciary. This program connects attorneys interested in becoming judges with experienced judicial mentors who guide them through the appointment or electoral process.
Judicial mentors offer support by reviewing applications, preparing mentees for screening panels, and assisting with the interview process. The program matches attorneys with judges who have gone through similar pathways and currently preside in the court the attorney aspires to join. The time commitment for mentors is flexible, allowing for an open-ended relationship tailored to both parties.
If you’re an attorney interested in becoming a judge, submit a mentor request form to the Commission and begin your journey with the guidance and support you need.
